1979 Chrysler Valiant SE
Background check
Description
Vehicle relisted due to the time waster who won the last auction tried to renegotiate.
I purchased this car 25 years ago essentially as it sits now. I parked the car at the end of 2006 and it has been in storage ever since. Rego is on hold.
My circumstances have changed and need to move it on. In my ownership, I have not painted, bogged or welded anything. The only major repair I did was get the automatic transmission rebuilt and then routine maintenance.
I have just replaced the battery, sparkplugs, fuel filter, oil, oil filter, coolant, valve cover gaskets. Inspected the fuel tank and replaced the brittle wiring secured to the r/h valve cover. It starts and runs nicely. However, the car has been in hibernation for a long time, to make it a safe and reliable vehicle. It needs attention towards the brakes, suspension and steering (the steering box has play).
Some rust on: l/h firewall. l/h rear vinal roof trim clip holes. L/h front lower/inner guard. R/h front inner sill (refer to photos). Some of the panel/paint is bumpy and showing its age (refer to photos). Some paint appears to be original, and some has been resprayed by the last owner.
Factory A/C and heater is not working. Rear electric windows are excellent, the front electric windows are slow. Front interior is worn, the rear interior is like new. It came with these wheels, they have been slotted to fit.
