Produced from 1962 to 1969, the Daimler 2.5 V8 (later V8-250) marked a significant shift for the marque, being the first model based on a Jaguar platform, the first with unitary construction, and the last to use a Daimler-designed engine. Its standout feature is the Edward Turner-designed hemispherical-head V8, first seen in the SP250, which gave the car its reputation for smooth, near-silent performance. With a top speed of around 112mph and characteristic refinement rather than outright pace, it was always more of a compact grand tourer than a sporting saloon. With just over 17,600 produced, it remains the most successful model in Daimlers history.

This example was sold new in New Zealand by Reid Motors of Dunedin, first registered on 5 August 1966, and presents today with a lovely, honest patina. Finished in Carmine Red with a well-preserved wood and leather interior, it shows 68,358mi and has clearly benefited from ongoing care. It features electronic ignition, Jaguar power steering, a stainless steel exhaust, upper cylinder lubrication system, rebuilt gearbox and a remote alarm, along with more period touches including a tape deck and original jack. The car has also received a new hood lining, sun visors and tyres, and has been regularly maintained by a local independent marque specialist. Offered by a Daimler Club member, it represents a well-sorted and increasingly uncommon example, with usability and presentation that set it apart at this level.

The vehicle will be offered with current WOF and registration.
