18 Detroit Drive, Rolleston, Selwyn, Canterbury

Versatile 1-acre block in the heart of the Rolleston Izone. We have had several development concepts for this attractive, flat property, ranging from a single large warehouse to four units, however, we are now looking afresh at larger sites, and we welcome expressions of interest.

The front of the site is in grass, then the larger part at the rear is fully & securely fenced with access via a sturdy set of gates and is reasonably level and compacted for driving on or for storage purposes. We have some piles of shingle stored on the site with the intention of putting some compacted fill in from the street footpath to the gate. At present there isn’t a formed crossing to the site, as it would depend on how someone wished to use the site or build on it as to where this should be positioned.

Why Rolleston? Fast-growing Rolleston has seen a lot of residential, retail, and industrial development, expanding by 17 times its original size between 1996 and 2022. Some say it comes third in the top 5 places to invest in New Zealand. The Selwyn district’s population is expected to increase by another 47% over the next 25 years (2023 – 2048). The South Island's biggest bulk retail centre is planned for Rolleston, an 18-hectare site to be called The Station, the development is envisaged to have about 50 stores and eateries. Rolleston is the key transport hub servicing the Christchurch Metropolitan area and indeed the whole of the South Island. Approximately 92% of Canterbury’s exports go through Rolleston. It’s a place to be!
