Braemar Eco-Village is an intentional community of families and individuals from diverse backgrounds. We currently have 34 community members made up of shareholders, rental tenants and occasionally, woofers. We make use of our individual talents for the common good and have fun together.

The Village has a small commercial tenancy business. The financial surpluses from these tenancies are used to underpin the finances of the community, reducing the call on contributions from individual shareholding families. We strive to be good landlords and to manage our finances professionally.

The sale section is northwest-facing, gently sloping and elevated. It comes with an equal share of our common land, with its orchards, organic garden, sheep pasture, native bush and small stream. The Village has few rules, but it's our wish that the successful buyer will build their home here and play an active part in the life of our supportive and welcoming community. We also hope you will:

Share our kaupapa of wanting to walk lightly on the planet and to build your home with green building principles in mind
Be interested in sustainable food growing, landcare and restoring native ecosystems on our common land
Participate in maintaining and enhancing the common land and buildings, including participation in monthly working bees and working teams
Become shareholders in and directors of the Village operating company and partners in the partnership that manages the common land
Participate in those Village social activities that appeal to you.

Potential buyers will be selected on the basis that they are ‘a good fit’ for our community.

Nevertheless, price is important. The proceeds from the sale of this section will be invested in the Village for the benefit of all residents. We are looking for offers over $415,000.
