Description
Update: 14 Jan 2026 Our boatshed is now under conditional sale waiting for GW transfer to the new owners and remaining funds paid. There will be no more viewings at this stage.
Come enjoy the water lapping in your home away from home! A quiet spot, sheltered from the prevailing north-westerlies, this bach has been in our family for over 20 years.
This is one of the larger sheds in Onepoto, approximately the size of 2.5 garages. We've used this space to stay in, as a work office, for club meetings, and for some of the best parties!
Completely renovated 7 years ago with a new roof, fresh paint, insulation in all the walls, and new ply lining for a modern, clean finish. Cold running water is available. Note there is no onsite toilet or land (required to list on Trade Me), but the public facilities are just 30 metres away and have always served us well. We did explore connecting to mains like some other sheds, but chose not to as we simply don’t use it enough to justify the extra cost.
Deck outside plus your own pier — an ideal spot to keep kayaks, waka ama, or a boat on the car ramp. Off-street parking at the front is also included.
Running Costs These boatsheds are managed under the Greater Wellington Regional Council (GWRC), not the higher-charging PCC. The annual consent fee was $80.50 last year. Every few years (most recently in Sept 2025), a more detailed consent check is completed at a higher cost — the last invoice was $258.75. Spread across three years, the average works out at about $120 per year (details available from the GWRC website).
Power is already connected and fibre is in place if needed, though only power is currently active.
