When our owner Rose - who has had a very successful career in the home industry - set out to build this home, they knew exactly what mattered to them and their son. Their vision was simple: create a home that feels easy to live in. A home their son could grow up in, that could also accommodate him through his teenage years. And twenty years on, the timeless style proves they got it just right.

Solid construction (plaster over brick), sunshine and light were their first priority. With soaring 2.7m ceilings in the living area and all other ceilings 2.4m every room feels bright and generous. Bedrooms weren't crammed in for the sake of number but each thoughtfully planned. The master and their son's room are equally spacious, both having their own bathroom with sliders to the outdoors. The third bedroom is tucked away on the opposite side of the house, perfect for guests.

Working from home was always part of the plan, so the study sits near the front entrance - separate but convenient. Everyday details were just as important, including a large paved area for easy entertaining amongst low maintenance gardens with raised vege beds.

Fairway Park itself sealed the deal. A quiet, leafy suburb with Christchurch Golf Club just around the corner. A growing suburb with ample green spaces, Homebase, The Palms and the city centre close by, and the beach only a short drive away.

Twenty years later, the home still feels just right. However, our owners have a new chapter waiting - becoming first-time grandparents in Canada. It is time to pass this home on to someone who will value the same sense of thoughtful design.
