Description
Nestled east of New Plymouth at Tahora, having a combined Net Stocked Area of 402.6 hectares and an age class range from 2019 to 2022, Moki and Gilbert Forests provide you with a great opportunity to enrich your portfolio.
Moki Forest lies along Moki Road, covering approximately 428 hectares with a net stocked area of just over 314 hectares. The land is mostly medium contour and was planted over 2021 and 2022. The forest comprises of 60% Redwood, 37% Pinus Radiata, with the balance in Hardwood (Oak). There is also a well-appointed cabin which is accessed via the main arterial track directly off Moki Road.
10 minutes’ drive south of Moki lies Gilbert Forest which has medium contour, spans 153.2 hectares and has a net stocked area of 88 hectares. The forest was planted over the 2019 and 2020 planting seasons with 46 ha being Pinus Radiata and the balance in Redwood.
Both forests are registered in the ETS under "Stock Change,” with Moki encompassing a Carbon Accounting Area of 334 hectares and Gilbert having 93 hectares. The current FMA tables indicate exceptional growth levels.
Positioned strategically, the forests are within an economical cart distance from the Taranaki Port and Taranaki Pine Sawmill, making for a good mix of export and domestic options.
Moki and Gilbert forests can be bought either separately or as a package, and are being marketed through a two-stage tender process, with the first stage, non-binding indicative offers closing on 13th June at 2pm, followed by the formal Tenders closing on 18th July at 2pm.
