Description
1930's ~ with only 2million capital..... The South British Insurance Company
Massive! Enamel Advertising Sign
This is a whopper of an enamel advertising sign - much much bigger than the more commonly found smaller and more modern South British advertising sign!
This is 3ft wide x 2 ft high! (or 92cm x 61cm high)
The South British Insurance company was started in 1872 by a group of early New Zealand colonial settlers - mainly business men of Auckland including William Daldy, and other business men of note. Their first and head office was in Queen Street Auckland.
South British Insurance eventually had branches elsewhere in NZ and Australia
As you can see from the photos - there is some enamel loss etc - it also has some warp - but hangs well and looks very impressive and colourful.
This massive enamel sign is a real knock out when hung on the wall- Britannia on one side holding the New Zealand flag is a bonus...
The pictorials in their strong and vivid red, blue, green, white and black enamel colourings are very decorative.
There are 3 small holes top and bottom for hanging.
Pickup only St Heliers Auckland- or you are welcome to organise your own courier for pickup and packaging.
