Antique corkscrew, believed to be made of black goat horn and called the Adelaide corkscrew marked "Johnson"
on metal on corkscrew.

The handles are normally goat horn with a brass ferrule or collar.

From around 1886 on one google site visited.

The spike or "wire breaker" was used to break the wire or string that was often used to hold the cork in place.

the horn has some wear marks which you would expect from it age.
