Manufacture of stoneware in Bristol probably commenced in the early 18th century but output, at that time, would have been extremely small.
Although there were a number of Bristol potteries recorded as making brown stoneware in the 19th Century relatively few marked items have been recorded, hence the rarity of this flagon and its exceptional provenance.
Excellent original condition. Highly collectible.
