For so little efforts you can make the butter dish look so, so sophisticated and yourself so clever.
So simple to use that even the little children can enjoy using it for you. All you need is a block of firm butter, position the head of the tool and then pull it across the surface
I have included a photo of butter curls but neither the butter (of course) nor the dish is part of the auction.
Named on the shaft as Nutbrown and Made in England, the Registered Design number dates to 1942.
Being metal and with a wooden handle this will last you a lifetime, unlike a more modern plastic one – if they are even still made.
With the nice bright 1950s red handle and distinctive Nutbrown double silver rings it is in very good condition.
It is 14cm long.
What better way to “swank” up the holiday season table?
I love using mine and astounding people with my butter curls whenever I put out bread rolls, muffins or gems for visitors to do their own buttering. And of course even special occasions with family get my butter curl treatment.
And don’t get fooled by someone trying to auction one of these as a lemon zester. They are nowhere near sharp or fine enough for that!
