Description

In 1850, an upstate New York farmer named "Old Bill" Rockefeller moved to Cleveland, listed himself as a "physician" in the city directory and began to palm off bottled raw petroleum on the yokels as a cure for cancer.

Calling it "Nujol" ("new oil"), it was the beginning of the Rockefeller medicine and energy monopoly - a mega-cartel that truly began when Bill's cunning and determined son John tried his hand at selling oil.

This bottle is in good condition, no cracks, tiny chip on the top ill show in pics. It has a branch with green leaves with little red cherries/ berries painted on the front. The only other embossing is the number "4" and the letter "H" on the bottom. ca. 1915 to 1923
