A very rare old necklace, made of solid 15ct gold, tested, a book chain, with bale to hang pendant.

In keeping with the Archaeological revival of the 1870’s, it has a finesse to its craftsmanship of a high degree.

Ornate links of fine wire and beaded edging are joined by oval tubes, each furnished with tiny decorative raised clove buds.

Very fluid in movement, as such it is a heavy yet elegant ribbon like chain, the intricate design continuous, including a strong discrete clasp curved at the nape. To the front underside is a bale ring, perfect for any pendant or locket.

In excellent original condition, with no repairs, it still has a rich authentic patina of age, with hints of mauve and purple lustre seen to the links of the 15ct yellow gold.
