Antique Shakudo ring.
Shakudo is a Japanese art form known as Shakudo.
Shakudo originated in the Samurai period in Japan by esteemed artists who made ornaments to adorn swords and armor. When the Samurai period ended, these artists moved to making wearable art.
Here on offer is a collectible museum quality artisan hand made ring, c 1870th. This is incredible miniature work of art. The ring is from the end of the Samurai era. The Artisan used few different metals, sterling silver, copper and real gold. The Shakudo artisans used a technique to dark the copper, usually darkened to blue or brown patina to show case the beautiful designs, in this ring a beautiful real gold flower.
The ring is size 8. The top is 35mm long and has a beautiful gold flower.
