WWII 22nd Battalion NZ Onward Trench Art - Sidi Bara Jan 1940 Egypt

This has been made out of a Military artillery Shell with a Brass Chinese dragon Bowl Top - The Base has been engraved "Sidi Bara" Jan 1940 - With The NZ onward Badge

The base tells the rest of the story which is crudely stamped: 22nd Mobile Workshops Officers Mess - Which is of course the New Zealand 22nd Wellington Battalion

So it was probably used in The Officers Mess as a bowl !

Measures 250 mm across x 90mm High
