Description
A genuine, vintage pair of pilot's goggles from Soviet Russia. This Cold War era eye protection was worn not only for flight, but also while operating land vehicles such as motorcycles and tanks. These goggles were manufactured around the 1970's but have been sitting, unused in storage since then.
Unlike modern protective glasses, which are made out of plastic, these lenses are made out of actual glass. A metal frame adds to the steampunk appearance and also has holes to provide ventilation. Underneath the frame is a rubber lining with a soft felt padding (the colour varies from green to red). Another feature is the ability to remove the lenses. This can be done by removing the key-ring and enable the replacement of customised prescription lenses. The goggles are secured around your head with an adjustable, elasticated strap. Perfect for a steampunk outfit or make them your regular motorbike riding goggles. The original documents are included which also makes it a nice piece for a military collector.
Features:
- Genuine Soviet surplus
- Removable glass lenses (could be customised for prescription lenses)
- Metal frame
- Elasticated headband
- Manufactured around the '70's
- Includes the original documents
Sizing: The headband can be adjusted to fit most adult-sized heads. Weight: 100g Content: Glass lenses/rubber/metal/elasticated fabric/felt Colour: Grey with green or red felt Condition: New/Unissued. Shows signs of wear due to age and storage conditions.
