REAL Antique China WARRING STATES Period BRONZE Small SWORD Ancient Artifact = JIAN

The Warring States Period (475–221 BC) was an era of division in ancient China. After the relatively peaceful & philosophical Spring & Autumn Period, various states were at war before the Qin state conquered them all, & China was reunited under the Qin Dynasty

This sword exhibits a NATURAL DEEP GREEN antique luster TRUE "Patina" the product of, and due-to, its GREAT AGE & absolutely IS NOT artificial chemical inducement

AGE = Circa 2200-2500 years OLD

Bronze age = Shang dynasty (Circa 1600 BC-1046 BC) to Spring & Autumn period (771–476 BC)

This sword probably excavated from the tomb of a WEALTHY warrior in the later 19th or early 20th Century when much of this type of activity occurred

The end of the sword (Pommel) has been lost, It was broken-off 1000's of years ago, LIKELY in battle, now an old & lusterous patina has crept-over it, as you can clearly see in my pictures

The 12 Chinese characters engraved on the sword (??) Will almost certainly contain a date, I would guess, & perhaps place of manufacture?

If anyone is able to READ these? I would be most grateful to hear what they do read?

I was told by a Chinese friend here in New Zealand, that he was unable to read the words at all (As, apparently the current written Chinese language is quite different)
