Paul Leroy Robeson (1898-1976) was the legendary American singer, actor, and Civil Rights, activist.

At Rutgers College, Paul was an outstanding American footballer, and then had an international career in singing, with a distinctive, powerful, bass voice, as well as acting in theatre and movies.

Paul became politically active in response to the Spanish Civil War, fascism, and social injustices.

Paul received his Columbia law degree while playing in the NFL and, at the same time, he sang and acted in theatre roles in the US and the UK.

Paul became an international movie star in the 1930s after several starring roles.

In the 1950s, Paul was investigated during the age of McCarthyism, his status was restored in 1958 but his health broke down and he retired to live out his remaining years privately.

Paul's autograph is on a page from one of my old autograph albums and has been mounted on a 5-inch x 3-inch index card.

The autograph has already been matted with an 8x10-inch, vintage photo of Paul.
