Amazing Art Deco Empire Ware volcanic glaze vase!
Very rare and unusual work for empire ware, c1930's.
Striking reds and blues in a W. German style, which makes scence given the early history!
The business was owned by Lazarus & Rosenfeld Ltd a European ceramics group and founders of the Victoria Porcelain Factory at Altrouhlau, Bohemia (now in the Czech Republic). The pottery was acquired in 1951 by H. Kaufmann Ltd.
