Description
Up for your consideration is a nice old Maori greenstone pendant of unusual form.
From the photographs you can see that the pendant has adze-like beveled edges and an elongated well worn suspension hole. I would think this is a late 19th century example made to look like the pre-european toki that were worn by the ear. It would make sense to not have a sharp blade on the end and I've seen this in early photographs.
The length if this piece is ~6.5cm and all sides have been ground to a fine polish.
Please be aware that it is only the pendant seen on its own that is for sale in this auction - All other pieces are in my private collection.
As per usual - Registered collectors only - Y20884.
