14 original "santons"(traditional clay figurines)
These have been past on by 3 generations of the same french included and i am now 63 years old...! So i am sure these are classed as "antiques" even if i am not..
These "santons" are part of the southern European catholic tradition and culture...they are made by hand with special clay and hand painted...
The stamp on one of them is"fougue,santonnier,aix-en -provence" ...which would be the most recent figurine and was made on a professional clay workshop...all the other would be substantially older and made by local provencal santoniers...(before it became"fashionable ") Please click here to ask a question
