Original antique 19th century Miniature signed hand painted portrait in bone frame of Goethe. A literary celebrity by the age of 25, Goethe was a German writer and statesman.

Set in an inlaid ivory colour bone frame of ivory colour with elegant shell strip around the edge, the oval portrait is surrounded by a small metal tooled frame and has a convex glazing covering it. Fit to hang on the wall. Signed on the right edge of portrait. Circa 19th century, French. Good size.

Excellent original antique condition with minimal wear expected with its age. No damage or repairs.
