A RARE early NZ comic political postcard! On the reverse of the card someone has written in pencil "Lord Islington." It shows Wellington Government House flying a quarantine flag with the Governor General in an early car leaving Wellington. There is a sign "to Featherston" in front of him and Auckland Government House in the distance with a sign "To Let Unfurnished." The postcard is titled "Homeless" "protected 10/10/10" and the copyright holders details which I cannot read. From checking online there is a despatch from the Governor General to the Secretary of State for the Colonies dated 29th September 1910 titled the "Exportation of Animals for Breeding Purposes." The whole content of this can be found online and is interesting. Obviously this is a comic postcard in relation to the despatch and the quarantine implications! It has what appear to be 3 small holes from being attached with drawing pins or the like. A RARE postcard!
