A solid sterling silver teaspoon with a nicely enamelled image of the Mauretania. Several small flakes off enamel and teaspoon toned. Weight: 13.9 grams. Hallmarked Birmingham 1909. Nice piece, possibly sold on board as a souvenir.

Cunard's RMS Mauretania was launched on 20 September 1906 as the largest ship in the world until the Olympic was launched in 1911. It retained the record as the fastest cruise ship in the world until 1929. The Mauretania was scrapped in 1935 to be replaced a few years later by a ship on the same name.
