Description
I believe this whimsical piece was made by Mitch Nugent for Aspreys Christening gift range. Very heavy with brushed and gilded interior. Ruby cabachon eyes. There was very little information regarding his work as a silversmith. This lovely figural napkin / serviette ring was made in London in 1988.
His makers stamp was hard to find - I had to contact the Worshipful company of Goldsmiths to find out. The makers mark initials and shield design are from a maker called Mitchel Chekka Nugent.
45 grams 5 cms by 4 cms by 2 cms tall.
I will be on holiday when auction ends so they will not be posted till the following Tuesday . If you need the item fast then please dont bid.

Mitchell (Mitch) Nugent, silversmith: born New York City 1948; died Petworth 4 July 1993.
Over the years Nugent's creativity spanned commissions for films such as Labyrinth and Henry V and individual designs for the World Gold Council , Jim Henson , David Bowie and Linda Ronstadt.
His collections were sold through Bergdorf Goodman , Henry Bendel , Asprey , Paul Smith , Liberty and Harrods. Typical of his work is his silver christening ware for Asprey's, typical for its use of animals and tongue-in-cheek humorous details.
