A well loved and gorgeous 1920-1926 Sterling Silver Cigarette Case... First I shall briefly explain the Hallmarks.

S&Bm Stamped into two lozenges with a circle. This is the Makers Mark... Smith & Bartlam (Caroline Street Birmingham) The other stamps indicate where and when this was made..Birmingham 1920-1926. They were well known and respected at this time for crafting Cigarette Cases and other small items. It still has the original Royal Blue bands to hold the Cigarettes in place

It is beautifully engraved with the initials R L S ... and alas it is not Robert Louis Stevenson ! It is a family piece that needs a new home now !
