Carved Walking stick (tokotoko)
91cm Made from Agathis macrophylla wood known as Pacific Kauri.
Rakau korero or talking stick is regarded as a staff of office that is often used by tribal elders to confer authority and punctuate speeches. The carving represent ancestral figures and are there to protect and guide the speaker and add authority to his speech.
