Hei Matau (Hook): In Maori myth, Maui used the jawbone of his ancestor to fish up the North Island of New Zealand. The stylised fish hook of today represents strength, good luck and safe travel across water.

Pikorua (Twist): This contemporary design symbolizes the bond between two people, through friendship, love, or blood.

Koru: The Koru is said to represent harmony and balance. Between the chaos of change and the calm of everyday, there is a point of equilibrium.

Designed and crafted in New Zealand by a local artisan.

------------- DETAILS -------------- This beautiful contemporary Maori artwork is laser cut from ¼ inch MDF and is available in three modern décor colours.

Material: ¼ inch MDF is an environmentally friendly wood product, denser than plywood and is consistent in strength and size.

Dimensions: The artwork measures 26cm x 13.5cm. The ideal size for your wall, shelf or display cabinet

Fixing: Each artwork comes with a cavity on the back for easy mounting on your wall. Each artwork includes a detachable stand which can be inserted into the frame to display on a flat surface.

Label: There is a label afixed to the back explaining the meanings of the designs as above.
