Robot made with various recycled parts.

A tiny girl robot, 'Hope' was named after a Facebook competition to name the wee mite. Martin's cousin named her as she had twins who were very premature over ten years ago.

The sculpture is approx. 20 cm high with a plastic dome cover from a carriage clock. The base is a cake tin and a round disc from a 60s Electrolux vacuum. Her feet are vintage car keys. Legs are from vintage clock mechanism. Skirt is an old oil can and body is retro tin for sticking plasters. Arms are gas cooker cleaning tools and head is 60's push bike back light unit. Skirt brackets are made from 50's typewriter parts and her hair is salvage from several old radios.

Every year in New Zealand, more than 5000 babies are born premature. That’s one every 90 minutes. The Neonatal Trust helps to support the families of premature and also sick full-term babies as they make their journey through neonatal care, the transition home and onwards. We focus on supporting parents during this often stressful time with support that is delivered in a number of ways. For more information please visit www.tinyart.co.nz
Proceeds from this auction will go towards enabling The Neonatal Trust to continue ‘making a difficult start to life that little bit easier’.

The free shipping for this auction is due to the kind support of PBT. www.pbt.co.nz

Also, our thanks go to www.onepercentcollective.org We're grateful to have One Percent Collective on board as a 'Tiny Art Supporter'. They helped us craft our thinking for the concept and also pull www.tinyart.co.nz together.
