Description
A set of 3 original watercolour and ink music-orientated paintings by NZ artist P.G. Rob. They are titled "Singer", "Violinist" and "Musician". I would date them to most likely the 1980s or 1990s.
P.G. Rob is actually the artistic pseudonym for Robyn Handtschoewercker(nee MacIntosh). Robyn married her master mariner French Dunkirk sea captain, Jean-Claude in 1992.
Together they sailed the South Pacific and since 2005 during the NZ winter have also regularly visited Europe, where they love to offer week-long canal boat art tours.
However, the Cardrona Valley, Wanaka is home and from where they provide day long or weekend art tours in Central Otago.
Since 1997 Robyn(P.G. Rob) has also written and illustrated at least 35 children's books through Trinity Publishing. "The Adventures of Captain Bear and the Crew of the Marie Grace" and "Joe's Journey on the Earnslaw" being examples.
Robyn favours the "pure form of watercolour and pen and charcoal for the immediacy of the materials and transparency of colours" and these three artworks are examples of watercolour and pen/ink.
The frame of the "Singer" measures 34cm by 44cm whereas the other two are both 31cm by 41cm. All three are protected behind glass and ready to hang.
Condition is good - see photos.
