Description
An impressive Dean Buchanan triptych on loose burlap, which adds a lovely pattern of detail to the work.
A mesmerizing landscape in the impressive abstracted geometric ‘Pacific expressionist’ style that is so iconically Dean Buchanan. This piece is in cool tones, with gorgeous hues more unusual to Dean’s work - while he may use these colours sparingly, he excels with them. A rainbow of colours, more predominantly focusing on pink, teal and deep blues.
Excellently composed, this is a contemporary Buchanan piece, signed and dated ‘12 - sound investment, by an artist already well revered and recognized.
Buchanan's works are extremely recognisable - not only by their scale and subject, but by the distinctly individual technique pioneered and perfected throughout his career.
“If you stopped me from painting, I’d probably die. It’s become that important to me. I want to fill the world with colourful images before I die. I want to leave something, I want to leave a legacy”.
The jute/burlap has hand cut edges - in some of the corners, it looks to have been hung with nails leaving minor damage, as photographed.
Altogether about 1125w x 780h
