Description
Iconic Kiwi artist Flox created three original artworks (each 1.5m accross by 2m high) to help fundraise to restore Rangihoua wetland on Waiheke Island.
This is your opportunity to own a huge Flox painting at a much reduced price!
Two of the original artworks were auctioned in 2019 and a heap of work was done restoring and planting Rangihoua wetland with native wetland plants.
This year we're back to auction the third and final artwork - the beautiful Piwakawaka and complete a second fundraiser for Rangihoua.
Pick up for this is from Auckland CBD.
Flox's notes on the artwork: "The artwork is a celebration of Aotearoa’s threatened wetlands. These artworks represent growth, employing tree shaped forms interwoven with both natives (Karaka and Akatea) and flora found in the garden (chrysanthemum and mint leaves), a homeage to the taonga of the Rangihoua wetland.
Perched in each tree, is the Kotare, Piwakawaka and Korimako (Kingfisher, Fantail and Bellbird) resulting in exploding compositions of colour, flora and fauna."
A huge thank you to Flox for creating these artworks for this fundraiser! And to Seventh Generation, home cleaning company, who organised this amazing art auction oppotunity!
