This is an original oil painting by John Charles Veitch (1853-1939). He was born in Scotland, settled in Dunedin and exhibited in Otago and Venice 1911-16. NZ rep: Aigantighe, Dowse, Forrester, Hocken etc. This is a well painted scene depicting a vivid sun setting sky over rural scene with farm house and farm buildings nestling among trees. Painting is in good condition, oil on board set in good wooden frame. Measures 44.5cm x 20cm picture size and 56.5cm x 33cm with frame. An interesting painting with strong colours.
