Description
Very rare Francis E Richardson watercolour of boats in Nelson Harbour. It is set in on oval mount in a dark wooden mahogany frame.
FE Richardson who also painted under her maiden name of FE Reynolds was a highly accomplished watercolorist of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Her work is in the Hocken library, Te Papa and Nelson Museum. We believe this is the only known painting done by her of Nelson and was apparently done while she was on holiday in Nelson.
