Exquisitely painted by portrait artist Hazel Hunt this painting depicts a beautiful Maori woman "Lady Beti Karaitiana" with a chin moko circa 1870s whom was the wife of Karaitiana Takamoana a prominent Maori chief of Ngati Kahungunu, and a New Zealand Member of Parliament for the Eastern Maori electorate.
Similar to a Gottfried Lindauer technique painted from a photo reference.

Some of her paintings have sold for over $6,000.
