Ron Stenberg was born in Auckland in 1919 and at age twelve was accepted into Elam School of Art in recognition of his exceptional artistic ability. He later became the Senior Lecturer and Head of Department at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee, was a council member of the Auckland Society of Arts, painter for the Black Watch Battalion during their last days in Germany; and also boasts a painting in the Queen’s private collection. Now in his 96th year, Stenberg continues to paint his bold and colourful scenes with youthful vigor.
