Original prints on Canvas by Rob Dickinson (New Zealand geographic Landscape Photographer of the year 2011)

Sometime really early we head out of our tents at Nugget point of a hours drive to Curio Bay.

We didnt know the location, had a vague idea where to head to on advice from a DOC ranger.

Driving through a camp site looking for the sea, looking for cliffs, somewhere. You can clamber round them, get a good shot says DOC ranger.

A little off road driving and we find the spot. Absolutely huge waves crash in from the darkness, I setup await the coming dawn with hope.

As the sky brightens we see the breakers and the clouds, not much hope of colour quite a lot of cover, but a spectacular scene, kelp swirling, waves crashing and these really nice brown rocks and cliffs.

Just for a few moments the sun lights the lower clouds , brings a touch of colour, I shoot a panoramic hoping to capture the whole view before the colour goes.

This is a stitched panoramic , huge detail , amazing to see!
