Reviews "The instructions say 30 cranks will give 90 seconds of light. I got around 5 minutes or so and that's when I noticed it getting dimmer. There was probably another minute or so of usable light left. It's easy to crank and makes a little gear noise, but too loud at all. It takes probably 20 seconds or so to crank it 30 times. It's probably around 7 lumens and you can get another lumen or two if you crank it when it's on. It has a push on push off switch and I like the fact that it uses a capacitor and not a battery. A capacitor will charge and drain faster and doesn't need to be conditioned. Also It can be charged a whole lot more than a battery. A rechargeable battery will charge and drain a lot slower and needs to be conditioned for best performance. If you don't condition the battery it will degrade and eventually won't hold a charge at all"

"I purchased this for my toddler who loves flashlights. I love that he can turn it on and wind it by himself and I don't have to worry about it being left of on and the battery dying. While this would work as a flashlight for adults, it would be a pain to maintain a constant stream of light if needed."
