It can be difficult to find relevant early Number Knowledge reinforcement activities that students can work on independently.

This resource which will be emailed to you as a.pdf file, includes 25 different ‘’Colour by Number’ designs for students to complete to reinforce their knowledge of Addition combinations to 20.

These ‘Colour by Numbers’ are different from the usual examples on offer.

Each design is made up of a number of shapes.

Each shape contains an addition number sentence up to a total of 20, but no suggestions of answers are written on the page.

Students complete the addition examples and write the different answers in the boxes provided. They then select their own contrasting colour for each number.

The shapes with the same answer are then filled in, using the selected colours.

The completed designs make a colourful display, with each student selecting different colour combinations.

The resource also includes 5 blank designs that students can use to create their own ‘Colour by Numbers’.
