Description
This is an auction for DEATH OF A DARKLORD: THE RAVENLOFT COVENANT, by Laurell K Hamilton.
Amazon.com reviews:
"Death of a Darklord focuses on a young woman who finds that she has a talent for magic in a land and a family unforgiving of such abilities, and her tragic attempts to redeem herself in the eyes of her family by aiding them on their quest to end the dark magic that has destroyed a neighbouring town."
"I found this book so refreshing. In this book, I fell in love with the twins and could really relate to Elaine, questioning every move she made and not ever feeling accepted. Feeling different. It made this book very east to read for me and I got lost in it very easily."
"Death of a Darklord is a self contained fantasy about a woman discovering she has magical abilities. Magic is frowned upon in the community she lives in, and conflict arises. That is a pretty unimaginative storyline, but the characters are what shine here. I really enjoyed the main character and I liked watching her progress. I also enjoyed the way everything was presented so that there was always something new and fresh, but you are never overwhelmed. The pacing is great, the world building is great, and the story is a good one. The ending is a bit frustrating, mostly because I want to know more about this world and these characters. I personally think Laurell K Hamilton did a great job here, and I wish her other work was more like this."
