Description
The Story of Christians Against Poverty
JOHN KIRBYThe incredible story of one man's mission to change thousands of people's lives.
In 1996 John and Lizzie Kirby felt God call them to help the poor and needy in their home town of Bradford. John gave up a successful career in the finance industry and started 'Christians Against Poverty' (CAP), from their spare room with a donation of just ten pounds in his pocket. Their faith adventure led them to many who were crippled by financial problems. Parents who couldn't afford to feed their children, families facing eviction from their homes and others who were without hope. John used his financial knowledge to devise simple budgeting systems and help those trapped in the misery of debt find a way out.
Today CAP is an international charity which runs a growing network of centres in partnership with local churches. The charity is changing lives in the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand; and has plans to expand into other nations. Hundreds of people have become Christians through its work and thousands more now look forward to a debt free future.
