Description
This is an auction for BEYOND THE LOOKING GLASS by Colin Gordon.
Subtitled "Reflections of Alice and Her Family".
Amazon.com reviews:
"FIVE STARS!! I have recently read a book about the origins of Alice in Alice in Wonderland and was interested to learn more about the family and the history of this classic. This book gives an excellent background to the history while retaining some discretion and dignity."
"This book is about Alice Liddell, her family, their origins and what happened to each of them. It is filled with artistic sketches done by Alice and other members of her family. In my opinion the entire family, pretty much, were rather good artists. There are also photos and a family tree at the front of the book. The information is interesting especially when it relates to how people lived at that time and how they acted and were expected to act. There is some material, of course, about Dodgson and his interactions with Alice but the majority of the book deals with her, her family and her ancestors and descendants. It's an enjoyable read."
