Hardback - first published 1972 - 181 pages - cancelled library book with library stamps etc, some tears on the edges of the dustjacket, and the top of the first page has been cut away (a photograph page of an awards dinner)

In the years since the award was first created by Queen Victoria during the Crimean War, twenty-eight New Zealanders have won the Victoria Cross for "some signal act of valour or devotion to their country.
