Perce wrote this book as a gift for his grandchildren on his eightieth birthday.

It describes his many voyages around NZ, to the islands of the South Pacific and solo return across the Tasman. It is a book which gives an unusually acute feeling for the fascination of cruising in small boats.

The book covers many years ranging from cruising the Tauranga harbour in a 10 foot sailing dinghy 70 years ago to modern small yachts with GPS, chart plotters, depth sounders and the ease of modern rigs and furling.
