He landed on the beach 25 April and left medically unfit 11 July after spending two months at Quinn's Post No index but author served with other Nelson and Golden Bay men in Canterbury regiment under Lt Col Brereton, sailed on Athenic, mentions solders by name including Baigent, Bird, McEvoy, Pearless.
