The book details the settlement situated eight kilometers west of Springfield on the Midland railway line. Has more than 160 photographs, many of which have never been published before, and one of which shows the New Zealand First Artillery on their mounts and on parade at the military camp on the Mount Torlesse Station in 1941. The book recounts the colourful reminisces of those early settlers - men like Pope, Hackett, Evans, Hunt, Johnstone, Johnson, Brown, Wallace and the like.. The was only available from the author.
