Description
Editor, Lauris Edmond, has selected 23 of Fairburn's letters out of the 900 in the Alexander Turnbull Library. The early letters paint an intimate portrait of the poet as a young man while the later ones reflect aspects of the literary, social and political life of New Zealand at the time. Fairburn was a poet, a satirist, a prolific journalist, a campaigner for causes and a fluent and witty speaker.
