In 1895 English Companies moved to New Zealand and took over a number of Goldfields and some claims, one of these goldfields was in Bulls, which was changed to the May Queen Extended Battery. The company ended in 1910 and eventually it was sold for scrap a few years later, ending the life of one of the few Batteries which crushed for the general public
Bull's battery was owned by the authors grandfather. This book is an account of the first batteries on the goldfields and the methods used for the extraction of the gold.
This copy is signed by the author, also includes a letter written by the author. Very scarce item
