TEN UNDELIVERED LETTERS

"Te Ara Tika" (The Right Track/Road/Way for NZ) elaborating his views on leasehold tenure as the basis for a stronger economy to be derived from greater integration with Australia, essential to support an adequate common defence policy. Two years later the CER (Closer Economic Relations) Agreement with Australia was signed by the National Govt, but without the revenue base he proposed.

Rolland O'Regan is the son of the late Mr Justice O'Regan, judge of the Arbitration and Compensation Courts. He was educated at St Patrick's College, Wellington and Otago University.

He was for many years a surgeon. As such he was accustomed to making a definite diagnosis and on it basing decision and action. In this book he has instinctively followed this ingrained pattern.

His English forebears settled in Nelson in 1842 and his paternal grandparents came to the West Coast goldfields in 1867. His wife was part Maori. New Zealand is in his blooed and bone.

He has written in this book about New Zealand past, present and above all her future - and how to make sure there is one.
