Description

A history of British mollusca and their shells by Professor Edward Forbes vol IV pulmonifera and cephalopoda.

Rare early scientific publication John Van Voorst, paternoster row. Dated M.DCCC.LIII So by my reckoning 1853.

From the extensive library of William (bill) Ballantine who passed away a couple of years ago.

Bill was a British-born New Zealand marine biologist. He has been called the "father of marine conservation in New Zealand. And was pivotal in the establishment of the goat island marine reserve.

Offered in good condition as photographed the cover is lightly rubbed around the edges but the books looks to be in overall good shape
